Director of Communications
Pamela Goldsmith is Director of Communications for Melanoma Research Alliance. Joining MRA in 2016, she brings over 20 years of experience as a writer, editor and public relations executive skilled in government, corporate and nonprofit strategic communications.
Goldsmith is responsible for expanding engagement with MRA’s constituencies and stakeholders while cultivating efforts to build mission awareness and presence as a leader in the field of melanoma research. She manages the organization’s alliances with communications partners, press relations and outreach.
Goldsmith previously worked as a consultant for The Heinz Endowments, helping launch and sustain one of its key initiative campaigns. For 8 years she managed public affairs for a government agency presiding over the second-most populous county in Pennsylvania. Most recently she served as Director of Communications for a statewide investigative news organization, collaborating with newspapers and radio throughout Pennsylvania, where she managed external communications and content strategy.
Her published work includes a 2016 feature story awarded as a Golden Quill finalist by the Press Club of Pennsylvania and a Vann Media Award of Excellence.
Goldsmith holds a B. A. in Communication and Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh.
