Dr. Ashley Steffens is a board-certified dermatologist practicing medical dermatology in Central Illinois. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Eureka College and her medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She went on to complete her dermatology residency at Southern Illinois University, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Steffens treats a wide range of skin conditions and is especially passionate about the early detection and treatment of skin cancer, sun protection, and building lifelong relationships with her patients.
In 2026, Dr. Steffens founded Helioshield, a women’s sun-protective clothing company born from her experience as a dermatologist and her belief that sun-protective clothing should be both functional and beautiful. Her mission is simple: to make UPF clothing accessible for every body and to change the way women think about sun protection.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and son, sitting on the beach with a good book (under an umbrella of course), and experimenting with fashion.
